(PRWEB) May 11, 2006 -- Most of who we are is made up of the autosomal DNA pattern we carry in our genes. Half of the information provided for the autosomal pattern is inherited from each parent. The maternal DNA line is linked to mtDNA markers and are passed from a mother to all of her children. However, these markers are passed on only by the female children. The paternal DNA line is linked to the Y-chromosome markers and are passed from father to son.
In order to determine the percentage ancestral heritage, the AncestryByDNA test examines 175 individual bio-geographically unique Single Nucleotide Polymorphisms (SNP's). Because of their ability to provide information on the specific ethnic heritage of an individual, these SNP's are also known as Ancestry Informative Markers (AIMs).
The mitochondrial DNA carries the genetic markers that a mother passes to her children. Also known as haplogroups, these markers provide the most accurate genetic information provided through the maternal line. Nearly all Native Americans can be classified into one of five separate haploid groups: A, B, C, D, or X. These haplogroups represent separate geographic Native American populations.
Most importantly, because these haplogroups are extremely uncommon outside Native American populations, the test can be performed with reliable accuracy. In addition to the test's ability to locate the specific region of origin of an individual's Native American heritage, the mtDNA test has added value to those doing genealogical research.
Our DNA tests can be very helpful in establlishing tribal rights and tribal membership and tribal benefits. The tests can also provide proof of your Native American Heritage for the bureau of Indian Affairs, a part of the United States government.
We have free at-home DNA test kits available.

Royal Family Genealogy Resources - Who Else Wants To Know If Blue Blood Courses Through Their Royal Genealogy Veins?
In some cases of royal genealogy, it is hard to believe the claim. For example, some people claim to be descended from Charlemagne, King of the Franks, and Emperor of the West. He lived over 1200 years ago and many people could be related to him, but it would be a miracle if any records had survived through fire, flood, worms, and the fury of the Vikings, the Black Plague, and numerous wars to prove such a claim. But it's such fun to look into your family tree and see if there was any royalty involved. What makes it daunting is that many royals had so many titles and names that it is hard to nail them down.
